epiphany!  We removed our tree and then decorated it for the birds to enjoy.  

But unfortunatly mother nature had other ideas and this is what happened just a bit later.

I was trying to capture a few photo's of how much snow we were getting and while trying to find a suitable back drop I found this!

Now how fitting is it that this old delapidated fence has an owl watching over our backyard in it!  For me this is the perfect present for today!  Stay warm and be happy no matter where you are today!

Brrrr!

It's this kind of day outside... (that last one isn't blurry... it's snowing THAT hard :0) So, this looks like a great day for more of this!   (You can imagine my pride when he said "Momma can you teach me to knit?"  "YES, I can!!!!") Be safe today if your weather is wild... otherwise get out enjoy your day!

I can be Jane too!

MSN always has these be "Jane" projects.  So I thought I would show all of you my "Jane" project *smile*.  I live in my Grandparents old house... which means that much of the "style" and yes I'm using that word loosely is very outdated.  So I thought I would fix up our bathroom by taking off the very old and very PINK tile.  I of course had one happy helper while demolishing the old tile and Meme also had to take a picture of me so that everyone would know I really did do this project *smile*.  I plan on fixing the wall board and then painting... I'll keep you posted on how my "Jane" project is going *smile*.

Weekend Warriors

If any of you know us you will realize that "weekend warrior" is a term we use a lot around here.  We enjoy doing projects around the house together ... but not to the point that we can't get it all done in one weekend.  Or at least to livable conditions when the weekend it over.   So this weekend we removed all the carpet from our home ... YIPPEE!  We are groaning and moaning now about sore backs, legs, and knees... but the job is done.  We managed to get it all cleaned up and everything back in place before the weekend was over.  Now we just need another 3 day weekend to sand and varnish and it will look really nice.  The boys proved to be great slave labor and thought pulling staples and wedging carpet strip up was great fun.  Thank goodness because by the end Brian and I just didn't have anything left :0).

You can see from the dark spots on the floor that there is a lot of damage to the old varnish.  But lucky for us our friends just redid there floors and so we asked for lots of advice.

It sure does brighten up the living room having that dark green carpet out of here, we sure are enjoying our new look even though its not finished yet.  I'll post more pictures as we work on it.

A three year olds dream

...to build the biggest Lego tower ever.  Fortunately, Daddy and JC were here to help Meme make it happen.  Roo and Momma had been shopping with Nana...but we returned in time to help hold up the finial touches and to get a picture.
