Wow convention was awesome this year so many workshops so many vendors... so little time :)

I've had a lot of request for my notes and I have to admit I can't keep track of who's asked and who I've already sent them too (wait wasn't Lara's get organized workshop suppose to help me with that??!?!?).  So my solution: I'm adding my notes here.  Enjoy!

vacation

Brian has a couple of days off, so we are having a mini vacation and we aren't going anywhere.  Ahhh, the best kind of vacation!  Just some fun, yard work maybe a little home improvement here and there... *smile*.  I'll catch up with ya'll in a few days.

Unplug Your Kids: Green

Being a 'greener' and having a 'greener' son opens us up for lots of unconventional ideas on how to save/protect our environment.  Maybe your this way too or maybe your a bit overwhelmed by the idea of it all.  We started very small at our house and I think the easiest way is to use eco-friendly shopping bags.  There are tons of ways and tons of styles to do this... we love the bags that stand up like paper bags.  Then my all time favorite... the chico bag, ahhhhh how I love this little thing.  Wraps up so tiny and small I don't even notice it in my purse and yet I ALWAYS have it.  We also love these little net bags... they work very well for fresh produce.  When we shop at our warehouse store and need big bags there is nothing like the IKEA bag... so cheap to get and they work and last FOREVER!

Here are some bags the boys and I have made...

Good Stuff

We spent most of yesterday out of the house.  Going here, going there... sigh.  JC had to head back to the eye doctor to have his eyes check again.  He has "desert eyes". I know your thinking, what the?  But, if its funky and strange we will have it!  So, we had to spend 3 weeks putting eye drops in every 3 hours and then a thick eye gel in at night (thank goodness we homeschool hu?!?!).  But, they look better and now we are down to putting the drops in 4 times a day and the gel in at night, ahhhh sweet relief *grin*.   Then waiting for Brian to get off work turned into quite and adventure.  He was finishing up all the "end of the month" things and this being January it turned into the "end of the year" things so as it got later and later the boys and I had to find our own fun.  So how does a crafty Momma and crafty kids burn a few hours waiting?  Why we stop at the yarn store and then the books store of course!  Ok, I admit the yarn store was only 10 minutes maybe, the book store was a good hour and half... ahhhh my kids love books, and so do I!  Oh, and check out what JC decided to do... guess he didn't want Roo to have all the fun!

Sensational Socks!

I love socks... I love warm socks... I love funky socks.  Lately I have been blessed with a bunch of new socks (obviously.... *cheeky!*) thanks Brian and Momma!  When I wear socks like these I feel ... well warm and funky.  Which might not work for everyone but it does for me *grin*.  And then there are leg warmers... but thats a whole different post.  *smile*  What do you wear that makes you feel warm and/or funky?  Oh, and lucky for me... one of my darlings got my love for funky socks!

Powerful!

This is very good (long 20 minutes) but very worth it.  I think no matter how you educate your children (public, private or homeschool) he has some very good points.
