Punxsutawney Phil

The kids in our Co-op got together and learned a bit about Groundhogs Day.  They did some copy work and then each made a folder with Phil in it and what his home might look like <g>.

100_1637_1 Copy work is interesting with 3 different levels... so Meme practiced his G's and H's.  Roo wrote a two line poem and JC wrote a two paragraph poem.

The boys had a lot of fun with there Phil pictures inside.  It amazes me how each boys personalities come out during a project like this.

Meme (who LOVES pop up books) wanted his to stand up ... yes, I helped <g> ... he was so pleased when he could open his folder and Phil would pop up nice and straight.  I'm not sure why he needs a mailbox... but Meme was sure he needed one :0)

Roo wanted something simple so he drew a very simple home for Phil... with Phil himself just hanging out :0)

JC spent a lot of time using his best buds art kit... and used many different mediums to create his original art work.  He also really likes pop up books but wanted a different look then Meme's...

Thank goodness the the real "Phil" says that spring is around the corner <g> we can't wait.

El Nino has caused high winds, heavy snow, ice and freezing temperatures in the west.
Here in the East with much mild winter weather we have been blessed.

Global warming has caused a great debate.
This mild winter makes it seem just great.

On this Groundhog Day we think of one thing.
Will we have winter or will we have spring?

On Gobbler's Knob I see no shadow today.
I predict that early spring is on the way.
