...well kinda. I think I have hit my yearly burn out... or bored out, it happens every year after all the excitement of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and the New Year. Every year the kids and I get to the point where we just don't wanna do it anymore :0). It's not that we don't like school or we don't want to homeschool (because we love that). But, we just get tired of the same old schedule. So I've been working on coming up with something a bit different and exciting to go with our studies. And having a play group has really helped because myself and the other mommas have been brainstorming some original games or trading games that have been fun at each others houses. So here are some games I've made.
Round 'em Up!: This game helps teach days of the week, addition and subtraction.
Bumble Bee Math... the name says it all!
Sentence Rummy Cards:

The game below is a take off of CandyLand which Meme LOVES but I get so tired of playing. So he helped me stamp the folder with our Do A Dot Art! bottles and then we had a die that had colors on it, instead of numbers. Then we just play like the original but some how just the change from cards to dice gets me through another game. ;0)
This next game I shamelessly copied from my very good friend A. She had discovered this great game on the Internet and made one and I of course had to have one too when I saw it :0) I changed up a few things to go more with our families math. We use Math U See and I wanted to stick with what we had been taught, so I made our game go from right to left and I colored the place values to match the block colors we have. For instructions to this game go here.
Place Values Math Game:
Also, another play date momma, S. has got us hooked on a game that is now on our wish list to buy... Quiddler. I had never heard of this game but it helps with spelling. The kids played for quite awhile and not one complaint of having to practice spelling whoohoo!
If anyone would like help in how to construct these games leave me a comment (just click comments in blue at the end of the post) and I will get back to you on how I made them.
Hopefully these games will help pump some life back into us. I know it sure helped me feel better after I got my creative juices flowing. Tomorrow we go to play group and I plan on taking a few of these with me... so hopefully I'll have some pictures of the boys and there pals at play. Have fun creating your own games and if anybody has a fun one send it to me! I can use all of them I can get lol.

I would love to know how you made these games. My daughter and I are in the same situation, sick of worksheets and the same old schedule!
Thanks
Kathy
