I love your song! The last 3 years I've gone back and forth trying to decide if I should homeschool or enroll in Christian School. We've done Christian school because my husband and I have been in school. We're finally graduating, and your song has given me inspiration to home school again!

I love the song! That is really cute!

Mom of 6

We have six kids -- this is the first year all of them are in school -- if I ever write a book, it will be entitled: Never A Dull Moment!
How many times have we fielded those inquiries??? Boo-Koo times a kah-jillion to the umteenth power times... ;)

Right now I am in tears -- that song has repeatedly played in our lives since 1989 -- our first child was born --at home--....

Isn't that illegal? YOU ARE SO STRANGE...do you have medical back up?
well, I could never do that...I would want medication ...WHY WOULD you do that?,
what about the PKU test? Is your midwife certified? You could kill your baby...
You both could die... will you immunize??? What about a birth certificate?
Will you circumcise?... Can I have your midwife's name?
Where do I buy birthing kit supplies? Can you attend my homebirth?

I could not help but be reminded of the experience we had with curious onlookers and nay-sayers as we chose homebirth with a midwife. I have learned that being firm in personal resolve, in the face of ridicule, can be quite a threshing floor for human character.

We also embarked upon a very alternative lifestyle of learning at home.

The three high schoolers have gone through ACT tests and the COMPASS test at the Junior college, to see about early enrollment. We've accepted invitation to take Saturday Morning Physics course at Fermi Lab! (Fabulous, and I got to sit in on all the lectures and take the tours! My brain HURT after the 90 minute lectures, I am not kidding.) Our 14 yos just took the final at Wheaton College in Greek 201 ... getting ready to start translating Plato's apology in Greek 202 for Spring semester. 15yo daughter plays high school softball at the public school -- our curriculum more than passed muster with the education board for core courses/academic eligibility. Our late-bloomers, 17yos and 12yos,are finally "getting it" with Algebra 1 and Saxon 45, respectively. 5yod and almost 8yod are taught together...except reading.

The "inquiring minds that want to know" are a din in the background ... things are hopping here and my nose is to the grindstone ... some days I love it ... other days I remind myself that I chose it for many good reasons ...some days I day-dream about driving a small car, getting my nails done and playing tennis or going out for lunch! In the final analysis.... I would not trade what we have for anything!

PS ...in tears again ... we never walk alone... even though it feels like it sometimes!

Thank you SO much for sharing that great 14 days song lyrics.
